The number of candidates on a ballot isn't really an indicator of how free somewhere is, the amount of autonomy there is and how little authority there is are. By that metric, almost nowhere on Earth, including the US and North Korea, is particularly free.
Wherever we go we'll be met with class, authority, rulers, and ruled. Capitalism and states dominate the globe and almost nowhere remains free. Quibbling over whether or not only having one option or having many in elections is more free obscures this.
